Chin Implant revision story. Things to learn about your Chin Augmentation revisional procedure.

Friday, May 13th, 2016

This is based on a true story: We recently had a patient who came to us with a chin implant placed through a revision procedure by a well known surgeon in our community. The chin implant was protruding off the bone and was causing pain and asymmetry. We were worried about the implant coming out of the skin. The patient was worried about this and the pain it was causing.  This was their second chin implant in the same location. We were going to do the third chin revision implant surgery. What we found was that the nerve had a lot of scar tissue that prevented our visualization of the nerve. This was likely the reason the implant was forced into a more inferior location. This lower placement directed the lateral wings of the implant off the inferior edge of the jaw bone. Thankfully, through careful dissection we were able to find the nerve. This allowed us to elevate more of the tissue off the jaw bone and allow the right location of the implant. After the procedure, the patient was very happy with the outcome and there was no more protrusion from the bone and no more continual pain. Click here to read more about Chin Implant Revisional Surgery.

Tummy Tuck vs Liposuction

Friday, January 8th, 2016

How do you decide if you need a tummy tuck? Liposuction? or both? This is a common question regarding abdominal body contouring. In general if you have a lot of excess skin, a tummy tuck is probably your best option. On the other hand if you your skin elasticity is good with not much excess, liposuction may be the answer. Lipoabdominoplasty is the combination of liposuction with a tummy tuck in the same operation. Usually the liposuction is performed towards the sides of the belly and not very aggressively if at all in the midline region.

The changing technique with Facial Fillers | Injectibles

Filler Injectible to Nasolabial Fold Restylane by LA Beverly Hills Trained Award Winning Dr Philip Young

Filler Injectible to Nasolabial Fold Restylane by LA Beverly Hills Trained Award Winning Dr Philip Young

Fillers and an interesting story: Aging is due to volume loss. At least a big part is played by the volume we lose everyday. Fillers | Injectibles are a great way to keep the volume subtly over time. But learning where to put it makes a big difference. I ve been noticing more over the years that doctors are putting fillers too much in the front of the face. This is a natural approach given that’s where you see it. But a big part of making you look younger is avoiding placing the filler right in the folds or wrinkles and more around the area and areas that you wouldn’t expect. Recently I saw a person that had an allergic reaction to fillers after a treatment by another doctor.  She didn’t look right but most doctors didn’t know what it was. I thought that her reaction might have been a neurological reaction to her emotional response or deep part of her brains response to what was happening.  She had been feeling a lot of anxiety since she started to have fillers. Her conscious mind couldn’t put it together but her emotional deep part of her brain was putting it together. I could sense her anxiety. I had a plan for her. I dissolved much of her fillers and did a whole face rejuvenation with fat injections. Since then she has been feeling a lot better. The last time I saw her, I could sense that her level of anxiety was really improved and she was looking and feeling a lot better as well.
